This policy explains which personal data we process when you use Sharkhex Classifieds (https://classifieds.sharkhex.com) and what your rights are under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
1. Who processes your data
The data controller is Sharkhex Classifieds, registered at . You can reach us at hello@example.com.
2. What we collect
- Your account: email address, password (stored hashed), name and, optionally, phone number (and whether you verified it), city, profile photo and, for businesses, the company name and VAT ID.
- Listings, messages, offers and reviews: the texts, photos, messages and price offers you exchange with other users, and the reviews you write.
- Activity on the site: the searches you make, the searches you save, the listings you favourite and the listings you open while signed in. Without an account, the listings you opened are kept only in your browser.
- Technical data: the IP address of contact form messages, and the identifier of your phone if you allow app notifications.
- Payments: billing details for paid services; card details are handled only by the payment processor.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
- To run your account, publish listings and deliver messages: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud and improve the service: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- For invoicing and other legal duties: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- For newsletters and analytics or advertising cookies: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
4. How long we keep data
Account data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise it, except for data the law requires us to keep (for example invoices). Some data is deleted sooner:
- searches: after 365 days;
- the listings you opened: after 180 days;
- accounts whose email address was never confirmed: after 30 days;
- photos of deleted listings: after 30 days;
- IP addresses of contact form messages: after 90 days;
- job applications and the CVs attached to them (seen only by the employer you apply to): after 180 days;
- notifications in your account: after 90 days.
You can download your data at any time from your account settings.
5. Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us run the service (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics), under contract, and with authorities when the law requires it. What you publish in a listing is visible to visitors of the site.
6. Cookies
We use cookies the site needs to work and, with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner or in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. To use any of them, write to us at hello@example.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords and restricted access to data. Please don't send sensitive data in messages.
